1981 Endeavour 40

Name: John & Sandi Bartoszek
Boat Name: Southern L'Attitude
Year: 1981
Size: 40'
Date Purchased:1994

Boat History:
We believe the previous owner sailed in Narragansett Bay prior to his move to Ohio. The 2 years prior to when we purchased the boat, friends of the prevuous owner sailed the boat in RI during the summer and sailed the boat to NC for the winters. We also believe the boat spent some time in FL and at one point, was partially sunk.

Experience:
We have been sailing for approximately 13 years. Most of our sailing has been coastal cruising in the RI, MA, waters, Block Island, LI Sound. We did do some limited sailing in Biscayne Bay in FL and a quiet motor over to the Bahamas.

Our 1st boat was an O'Day 25, and our 2nd, a Catalina 30.

Boat Review/Upgrades:
Unfortuantely we have not sailed the Endeavour very much because of relocatons and we have been slowly upgrading and refitting the Endeavour. On the positive side, she sails better in light winds than I would have expect for such a heavy boat. The accomodations are very spacious and she has nice lines. On the negative side, she has a lot of eatherhelm and some of the systems are very difficult to get at below. Seems like the majority of the systems were installed in a bare hull and then the interior was constructed over the systems. I am also installing turning blocks. With the current headsail, the sheets need to be lead aft of the winches. I have also replaced all the ports and hatches (most leaked). Am looking forward to spending a lot more time sailing her this summer.
