E37 Trans Ratio

Hi,
I need to replace the prop on my 1978 E37. I have a 2 blade 17 x 17 LHand would like to go to a 3 blade. I have all the info to order except the transmission ratio. The id plate on the transmission is gone (past owner removed and lost). The boat still has the original 4-108 engine and transmission. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi Dan!
I think Endeavour used a couple of different trannies...mine is a Borg Warner 2.5:1, but takes a Right Hand Prop.
I converted from 2 to 3 blades a few years back . . . you want to keep the same diameter, and drop the pitch a couple of points. I went from a 17 x 17 to a 17 x 15 and it has worked very well.

Assuming your boat is the same as mine (E-37) It's a Borg Warner "velvet drive" with a 2.57:1 ratio.
