Hi Ike:
Yesterday I went to the boat to remove and inspect the oil pressure sender. Much to my surprise, Mastry, the Yanmar SE U.S. distributor had given me 3/8" BSP as the required size needed. It turned out to be 1/8-28, BSP (British Standard Pipe). It was very lucky that I had an array of miscellaneous parts on hand, because I just happened to have a Sunpro Metric Adaptor Kit CP7573 in my toolbox that was purchased at Discount Auto store. and one of the five included fittings was a 1/8-28 BSPto 1/8 NPT brass bushing (adaptor) that perfectly fit the thread in the engine block. With that fitting, I was able to put a 1/8" NPT nipple in place along with a 1/8"NPT "T" fitting and connect the sender and a new oil pressure gauge, thus having a redundant system.

I appreciate your help. Please pass this along if anyone else might be having the same question.

P.S. Paul Uhl - Discount Auto also sells a PS 100 Oil Pressure Switch that is 1/8" BSP,same as unit that I found installed to operate the red oil pressure warning light - Price $2.97. Oil pressure activation range 3-8lbs, about the same as advertised in the Yanmar Shop Manual for a whole lot less money! I hope this will help Endeavour owners who need to replaceoil pressure sender or wish to add a gauge.

Paul:
Let me restate regarding the sender question. Discount Auto Parts sells a PS 100 Oil Pressure Switch that is 1/8" BSP and will screw directly into the old sending unit threaded hole in the case. In fact, it looks identical in size and configuration to the original Japanese unit I removed. However, since I made up a 1/8" NPT "T" fitting with a 1" 1/8" NPT nipple attached to the "T" so I could use the sending light, plus add an oil pressure gauge, I bought a PS 24 oil pressure switch which has a male 1/8" NPT thread to be sure of a proper tight fit into the "T." Discount also sells a mechanical, capillary oil pressure type gauge for $14.95. The 72" of nylon line just fits, and my gauge works perfectly, showing about 45-48 PSI. Hope this info will help someone who may be replacing a sender or wishing to add an oil pressure gauge.
