I own a 1986 42' center cockpit sloop and I have a salt water wash in the galley that I have never been able to use. The foot pump which is located under the double sink does not pump. (as if the sea cock is closed) BUT.....I have never been able to locate the sea cock....Can anyone help???

I have a 40' built in 83 and the foot pump I have is located as yours is but it is connected to your fresh water tanks. This would explain no sea cock. Good Luck

Dear Daryl,
I have an '88 42-sloop. On mine, it pumps actually from the fresh water tanks. It accesses the fresh water lines where I switch from one tank to another just to the right as you enter the engine room area from the port side. You might also check and see if your faucet right at the nozzle is one of the screw on and off type that can be closed right there. I was fooled by that, also. E-mail me if I can be of any further help. Thanks

Hello Paul,
I have a 1984 Endeavor 40 which also had a foot pump under the sink...It was not however a saltwater line. The two water tanks had (still do) a y valve in my enjine room to select the fresh water tank...just downstream from that y-valve was a tee and valve to the foot pump under the sink....I have since removed all of it!!!! mine never worked either.

On my 1986 E42 the salt water wash is attached to the aft head intake which is located in the nav station. This has been true of one other E42 that I have owned. Another did not have a salt water wash. Good sailing ___/) ___/)

Friends: Thank you for the help with the foot pump under the sink. I have now determined that it is a fresh water pump, which apparently does not function. I have a 42 Endeavour 1986. I now have a larger more difficult problem...I hope there are some answers. My water tanks keep draining. I think it happens when I am under way and the water pump is on....The water heater seems to keep releasing water which in turn pumps more in to the water heater, releasing more and the cycle continues untill my tank is dry. Is there a fix for the water tank? Is there an adjustment?

Thank you.....
