E32 Water Tank Fill

Hi Paul,
On pre 1980 E32's, what diameter hose is used from the deck fill into the fresh water tank? I have what looks like a 5/8" hose that runs from the tank up to the deck.

Unlike the screw type filler for the fuel tank and waste tank, I have a fitting that flips up revealing the hose, which is not connected to the fitting. Is this standard or a refit?

Andy,
Sounds like a refit to me. My '79 E32 only has an access port under the mattress in the v-berth. I have to run a hose down the forward hatch to fill it. A fill port on the outside sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it's standard.

As an FYI, our 1982 E32 does have a water tank deck fill. It is the screw in cap type and is located in the forawrd end of the anchor locker. Not being at the boat I'd have to guess at the size at somewhere between 1-1.25" inside diameter hose. It was standard on our boat.

I know that Endeavour made some 'design' modifications starting with the August 1979 E32. This may have been one of the smaller ones.

My 79 E32 has a 1-1/2 hose from fitting from deck fitting to tank. The 5/8 hose sounds like it might be the vent hose. My deck fitting has a threaded closure with 2 holes that require a spanner to open.

My 1979 E32 has no deck fitting for the water fill, just a long hose that curls up in the locker aft of the tank.
