This maybe of interest to anyone who might be considering upgrading to or adding a battery monitor system for their sailboat. I've just intalled an EMON-H1 system built by Ample Power company, to integrate with my NEXT-STEP Regulator System and high output 150 AMP alternator, all by Ample Power as well. I've also installed a new battery bank and have separated this from the starter bank. The batteries are all by Trojan, the 6V T-105s in series and 30Hs, adding up to 700 plus AHs for the house. The systems all talk to each other and are a dream to operate. The addition of the new eliminator by Ample Power siphons amperage from the alt to ensure perfect charges for all the batteries including the starter bank. No more switches for 1 or 2 or both. All the banks are separate. Also I've remodeld the head area with a new formica counter and new shower/faucet mix for the sink. I have changed the cabintery a bit to make access to the chainplates easy and quick. Anyone who might be interested in any of these changes and upgrades, they can contact me.
