Boat Review/Upgrades:
Comfortable motion in the ocean. Generally solid feel at sea. Poor windward performance in a seaway, but acceptable in flat seas. Attains adequate sail speed, but motoring is less than optimum. Exceptionally dry in most all weather. Large stern gets pushed around running downwind in large (greater than 10' seas). Greater weather helm than desirable and generally not well enough balanced to self steer. Robertson autopilot with hydraulic Octapus ram handles all but most extreme conditions. Unexcelled cockpit and comfortable airy interior for the tropics. Exceptional liveaboard, comfortable cruiser, generally acceptable construction with few inherent deficiencies offset by numerous favorable attributes. Safe wide walkways with good handholds, very slow rolling moment provides good comfort at sea. All tankage must be replaced with above bilge construction using stainless and aircraft aluminum, but access good. Mast step must be isolated from moisture to stop electrolysis and repeat treated.
