1988 Endeavour 42

Name: Bob & Pat Sikora sailps@aol.com
Boat Name: Chanticleer
Year: 1988
Hull: 229
Size: 42' sloop, center cockpit
Date Purchased: 1997

Boat History:
2 previous owners. Private parties boat never chartered.

Experience:
Second sail boat. First was a Tartan 3100. Endeavour purchased in Palm Beach Florida. We sailed her home to Long Island off shore all the way. Greatest sailing adventure so far. Chanticleer was terrific even in a 45 knot blow. We've sailed her all over the Peconic Bays, eastern L.I. across the Sound to Connecticut, and to Newport, R.I. We plan to go to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard in July.

Boat Review/Upgrades:
Overall, Chanticleer is surprisingly easy to handle, even for two (short) people. She doesn't point too well, but we're getting a new genoa in a couple of weeks so that should help. Only real negative thing we can think of right now is that it's tough to get a fair lead from the genoa track to the cockpit winch - we're always rubbing the teak on the cockpit coaming from one side or the other (we'll eventually figure out a solution).
