Boat Review/Upgrades:
Overall I am very happy with the boat. Have owned it for about a year now & other than having water keep showing up in the fuel tank its just about perfect for an older boat. I can't seem to stop the water from getting into the tank. Knowledgeable boat people have told me that it must be getting in from the top of the tank since no fuel ever gets into the bilge or shows up in the water from bilge pumping or whatever.(in other words if water could get in from the bottom or sides of the tank, fuel could also get out & this is not happening) I have rigged up something to carry the drip from the stuffing box across the tank to the bilge & thereby keep the top of the tank dry, however water still gets in. Then I realized the bilge is touching the front of the tank & maybe even the top of the front end. Wish i had a diagram of how all that is fitted in there. I keep doing things to hopefully eliminate the problem, however I'm still not sure I've got it. I check the tank every 30 to 60 days by putting a probe into the bottom & pumping to look for any possible water. So far I continue to find from a quart to as much as a gallon & a half. Any help would be appreciated. As far as the sailing of the boat I am very happy with the performance understanding that it is a cruising boat & not a J-boat.
