Original name was Sea Rose, and the previous owner renamed the boat Island Rose, it was in the Houston and Galveston area and moved to Padre Island Texas in 1993, then to Mustang Island and Port Aransas in 1996.Experience:
Our 1st sail boat was a Catalina 27. We bought it in 1987 and sailed on Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth. We move up to Island Rose in January 1993 and took on the chalanges of salt water and a much large boat. We plan to retire within the next few years and cruise the South East U S and Bahamas.Boat Review/Upgrades:
We have replace and repaired many things in the past 5 years, including hot water heater, refrigerator, head, waste holding tank, sails, sail covers, various pumps, heat exchanger, transmission, fuel injectors, alternator and hull and bottom paint to name a few. The boat has been surveyed 2 time in the 5 years and has always been rated Sound and Above Average. Future plans include replacing the Air Conditioner, the DC power to include alternatior, charger and batteries (with golf cart), type I Marine Waste Treatment System, and water pruifier. Other than the age of most of the equipment we have had no major problems and are very happy with the boat.
