Boat Review/Upgrades:
The boat has been as close to trouble free as anything I've ever owened.I had a survey for my own peace of mind this spring and it was clean. Not bad for a 17 year old boat. Having said that, her shallow draft means she gives up a little bit to weather, I'd like a bigger V-berth, I have to take off my watch to check the oil, and if the Racor filter ever clogs up, I'll have to take everything out of the sail locker to get to it! Almost everything else is positive. She is surprisingly fast when cracked off the wind even a little bit and on a reach. She balances beautifully. Except for the slightly cramped V-berth, she is a pleasure to live on for two or three weeks at a time. Her systems have been almost bulletproof. we expected to own her for a few years and then move up but we've been so happy with her we probably will sail her into retirement and then go cruising on her several months a year.
