1979 Endeavour 32

Name: David & Joanne Denise scotian1@aol.com
Boat Name: Inspiration
Year: 1979
Size: 32' sloop
Date Purchased: 1996

Boat History:
Originally purchased in Jan. 1980 by Bill Morrison of Lees Summit, Missouri. Was sailed in Florida until 1992 when it was purchased by Mitch Taub of Nashville who kept it on Kentucky Lake. The boat was moved to Percy Priest Lake, TN. in 1994 and I purchased it in Sept. 1996.

Experience:
Sailed lightnings from 1976 until 1989 when I purchased a 1973 O'day 23'. In 1993 I sold the O'day and purchased a 1979 Hunter 27' then sold it and purchased the Endeavour in 1996. Have sailed the west coast of Florida a number of times, chartered a Centurion 49 in the Leeward Islands and just came back from chartering in the BVI's. We have also chartered in Florida and Kentucky Lake. From April through October we spend nearly every weekend on the boat and continue to sail throughout most of the winter.

Boat Review/Upgrades:
Overall I am thrilled with my 32'. When I purchased it, it was 16 years old so it demanded the normal upgrading but in general the condition was excellent. The boats traditional looks are great compared to the newer clorox bottles being put out today. The construction seems very sound and when I pulled it for the first time in 1998 (it had been in the water for at least 4-5 years, the bottom paint was nearly gone but it showed almost no evidence of blistering. The boat's performance off the wind is very good and always provides a comfortable ride. It won't point very high and exhibits a bit of weather helm in 18+ knot winds but as the cruising boat it was intended to be, it is outstanding.
