Cockpit Storage

Hi,
Has anybody cut out the bottom of the port cockpit seat to increase storage and better distribute the weight? Three Jerry cans of diesel give my boat a list to starboard. I can't think of any detrimental effects, but would like to hear if there are any objections to do so.
On Jan. 4th I am going back to the boat in Jacksonville and Points South and won't be able to surf the web. But I have a Sharp Pocketrmail thinghy that lets me send and receive E-mail from any phone using an 800 #

Yes,
I did it last year. You win two ways. First there is the added storage space that is needed on the E32. It also allows you to clean out the previously "hidden" space. After cutting through, I discovered and repaired a very small leak in the fuel line that could not be seen previously. It is worth the effort.
